Chastetree Berry

Chastetree Berry is an adaptogen, which can give the feeling of well-being.

Dr. Eleanor Kellon wrote an article for Horse Journal in December of 2000, in which she outlined some case histories of horses with Cushings Disease responding positively to chastetree berry.

Dr. Robert Eustace with the Laminitis Trust (UK) conducted a further study and followed the horses for 12 months. Although he documented symptom improvement, ACTH levels were not reliable lowered. In some horses, the ACTH levels were reduced, but in other horses there was no effect on ACTH.

Some people with older horses supplement chastetree berry for nutritional support of the horse.
